It's finally Friday... which means its time for a style challenge (and a large glass of wine). This week's theme was two toned shoes! I just snagged this pair on sale and I already have a million fall outfits in mind for them. They're sort of a weird hybrid of shoe styles, but they are pretty comfortable and easy to work into an outfit.

Just when I thought that summer was going to skip over San Francisco completely... it arrives. I absolutely love the Indian summers in the Bay Area. This past weekend the Mister and I decided to take full advantage of the warm weather by taking a day trip to Stinson Beach with the dog. Not a bad weekend overall... how was yours?

So, this post is my waaaay overdue contribution to last week's style challenge: Borrowed from the Boys. Better late than never, right? I think its pretty safe to say that my general style is about as far away from menswear as one can get. Let's face it, I'm girly. I had no idea how to pull off this week's last week's challenge so I decided to go for a literal interpretation and actually borrow something from my boyfriend's closet. I helped myself to a classic white button down and pieced things together from there. Not quite sure if I pulled it off, but it was certainly fun to try!

Well, well, well... sweater weather is upon us! Actually, truth be told it's always pretty close to sweater weather in San Francisco. It just seems a little more acceptable now that the rest of America is also cooling down. I picked out this sweater while perusing the lovely fall selection over at Sway Chic. I only recently discovered their site, but they have some unique pieces and their prices are really reasonable! What are you shopping for this fall?

I don't have any great excuse or fantastic story to explain my absence lately. I caught the same cold 3 times (not fun) and things have just been really busy at work. A ceramic studio opened up near my home a few weeks ago, so I have also been spending some free time making silly things out of clay and enjoying getting my hands dirty instead of staring at my computer. That said, I have also missed blogging and following along with all of my favorite blogger pals. It's nice to be back.

I felt a little weird walking out of the house is such a patriotic getup, but I decided to just go with it and I'm glad I did because I really ended up liking it.

Today my blog turned one, so I figured it was only fitting to share a few of my favorite outfit photos from the past year. It's been quite a year and I have to say I've learned quite a bit, met some wonderful people, and had a few amazing opportunities. Thanks for that.

For some reason or another I never thought I'd be able to pull off a denim jacket. I'm not sure why exactly, maybe I just couldn't find one with long enough sleeves or maybe I just thought I would look kinda cheesy. Whatever the reason, I just thought a denim jacket wasn't in the cards for me. So naturally, when I was trying to figure out what to get with my giftcard from the folks at Paige, I saw this jacket and decided to prove myself wrong. All I have to say is, I'm not sure why I waited so long to get one!

Well hello there! I have been down and out with a terrible cold the past week and I just can't seem to kick it, so I have basically spent the past several days in a DayQuil haze. Not fun and not exactly what I had planned, but enough whining... How about these snails, eh?

It's no secret that my closet is bursting at the seams with quirky prints, but this ice cream print blouse definitely takes the cake when it comes to fun summer prints! I have a feeling this top will be making a few more appearances before the summer ends.
