This is actually what I wore on New Year's Eve, but I never got a chance to snap photos that evening so I figured I would get all fancy for no reason in particular. Playing dress up never gets old.

Well, the holidays have come and gone with the blink of an eye, and the new year is somehow already here. I suppose it's time to get back to reality and start making progress on my growing list of resolutions. I can't say I'm particularly excited for the vacation to be over, but I love the fresh start feeling and spur of motivation that comes with a new year. Here's to 2013!

I wore this in Washington a few weeks ago, but never got around to sharing it. I figured it was better late than never. Speaking of late... I don't know about you, but I've got some serious Christmas shopping and baking to do over the next few days. What are you up to this weekend?

I've been pretty head's down lately, busy with work projects, ceramic projects, and recovering from yet another cold (I think my immune system is on strike). I think it goes without saying, but boy am I excited for Thanksgiving and the much needed mini-vacation next week. The Mister and I are going on a train ride adventure up the coast to Washington... sleeper car and all! We'll have a day to play around in Seattle before heading to our final destination, so if you have any recommendations for things to do or places to eat... please share!

It's finally Friday... which means its time for a style challenge (and a large glass of wine). This week's theme was two toned shoes! I just snagged this pair on sale and I already have a million fall outfits in mind for them. They're sort of a weird hybrid of shoe styles, but they are pretty comfortable and easy to work into an outfit.

Just when I thought that summer was going to skip over San Francisco completely... it arrives. I absolutely love the Indian summers in the Bay Area. This past weekend the Mister and I decided to take full advantage of the warm weather by taking a day trip to Stinson Beach with the dog. Not a bad weekend overall... how was yours?

So, this post is my waaaay overdue contribution to last week's style challenge: Borrowed from the Boys. Better late than never, right? I think its pretty safe to say that my general style is about as far away from menswear as one can get. Let's face it, I'm girly. I had no idea how to pull off this week's last week's challenge so I decided to go for a literal interpretation and actually borrow something from my boyfriend's closet. I helped myself to a classic white button down and pieced things together from there. Not quite sure if I pulled it off, but it was certainly fun to try!

Well, well, well... sweater weather is upon us! Actually, truth be told it's always pretty close to sweater weather in San Francisco. It just seems a little more acceptable now that the rest of America is also cooling down. I picked out this sweater while perusing the lovely fall selection over at Sway Chic. I only recently discovered their site, but they have some unique pieces and their prices are really reasonable! What are you shopping for this fall?

I don't have any great excuse or fantastic story to explain my absence lately. I caught the same cold 3 times (not fun) and things have just been really busy at work. A ceramic studio opened up near my home a few weeks ago, so I have also been spending some free time making silly things out of clay and enjoying getting my hands dirty instead of staring at my computer. That said, I have also missed blogging and following along with all of my favorite blogger pals. It's nice to be back.

I felt a little weird walking out of the house is such a patriotic getup, but I decided to just go with it and I'm glad I did because I really ended up liking it.
