Things are starting to get a little crazy around here with holiday parties, out of town guests, christmas shopping, and the busy holiday schedule at work. This evening Meghan of Voilà and I are heading over to Crossroads to pick out our favorite festive pieces and style up a look for the Crossroads holiday party on Thursday . I always love hunting for stuff at Crossroads so needless to say I am excited for tomorrow, and even more excited for the party on Thursday.

There wasn't any snow while I was in Wisconsin but it was definitely fireplace weather. While I spent most of the weekend cozied up next to the fire, I managed to pull myself away and snap a few photos on a walk along the creek.

I am currently sitting at the San Francisco Airport waiting to jump on a redeye flight to the middle of America. As unappealing as this sounds, I am actually pretty excited for a little change of pace. I am so looking forward to spending some quality time by the fireplace and catching up on some reading. I'm sure I'll snap a few photos while I'm in Wisconsin too.

I decided to bust out my amazon-lady heels one more time before it gets too chilly, although now that I think about it they would look cute with jeans too. The bold colors and pattern of this dress always seem to put me in a good mood. So vibrant and perfect for fall! I am getting pretty excited about the holidays, and I am especially looking forward to a few days of much needed relaxation.

Fall is here and it looks like its going to stick around for a while! The leaves are changing colors and the air is brisk. I love this time of year, but even though I have lived in California for over 2 years now I can't quite shake the dreadful anticipation that I used to associate with fall in Minnesota.

Last week I had a fashion themed night on the town with Meghan of Voilà! We started the night at the FashTech panel, which was just beginning when the whole block was evacuated due to a gas line bursting (I really hope they reschedule this event, I was really enjoying it). We ran into Susan (founder of ModCloth) on our way out and she joined us for dinner and drinks at Prospect. After dinner, Meghan and I headed over to the opening party for the new Steven Alan shop in Hayes Valley. It was a really swanky little gathering with delicious treats and a great crowd.

Just another outfit with garish colors and pretty patterns. I love mixing primary colors. This blue wall is right across the street from my apartment, and I never really thought much of it until I took these photos. It matches my bow and it kinda makes the outfit.

Last week my coworkers and I had a visit from the ladies of Refinery29! It was a really fun day filled with photo shoots across campus, a ride on the conference bike (that thing can get some serious speed!), a T-rex sighting, and all kinds of other shenanigans.

Who doesn't love fresh scones? I've made these pumpkin pecan scones a few times, but this last batch I made was definitely the best. I think the key was that I actually didn't use a mixer this time. I kept over mixing the dough with the mixer, and I ended up with tasty but kinda rubbery scones. Even if you don't get them perfect on the first try, these babies are absolutely delicious!
