Happy Halloween! Unfortunately I'm suffering from a fairly persistent cold, so instead of partying down in my twister girl outfit, I am spending the evening curled up on the couch with the cat and a bag of candy-corn. However, in the spirit of the holiday I figured it couldn't hurt to share a few snapshots of the Halloween party from work last Friday. Let me tell ya, Googleween is no ordinary work fiesta. We had funnel cakes, spooky cookies, silly costumes, and a surprise performance by the band Cake! All in all, it was a pretty fabulous day at work.

On the way back from a friend's wedding last weekend, the mister and I stopped off at a little farm to pick up a couple pumpkins and some fresh veggies. I wasn't really planning to take any photos, but it was such a beautiful day and the pumpkin patch was so cute, I decided I couldn't resist. We carved the pumpkins up the other day and they turned out pretty great!

One of my favorite things about fall is all the delicious pumpkin stuff there is to bake (and eat). I have tried lots of different pumpkin bread recipes over the last couple of years and this one is my favorite so far. I originally found it here, but I modified it a bit so it's a little healthier and slightly less sweet. The recipe makes two loaves, so this time I decided to make pumpkin bread french toast with part of one loaf, and boy was it delicious.

The weather in San Francisco has been absolutely beautiful lately and the lack of fog has made for some pretty splendid evenings and memorable sunsets. On a completely unrelated note, there is a giant inflatable pumpkin taking up an entire parking spot across the street in that first photo, and it's really a shame you can't see the whole thing... because it's pretty impressive.

This dress was a total impulse buy, but has become one of my favorites over the past few months. In all honesty that could be because it doesn't ever have to be ironed, but the fun pattern and bright colors also helped it move up in the ranks!

Last Friday evening I attended the most fabulous picnic I have ever been to: Le Dîner à San Francisco. It was a pop-up picnic held at a secret location (revealed just a few hours before the event) with 2500 strangers all dressed in their best white duds. Think underground dinner meets flash mob, but a little classier. We drank, we dined, we danced... and then we left without a trace.

The nice folks over at Philip Simon surprised me with these lovely (and very high!) shoes a few weeks ago. I love the color and the buckle detail over the back of the heel. They are much taller than the heels I usually wear, but they are surprisingly comfortable and I had a good time being 6'4" for a day. I got this skirt a few weeks ago after realizing that a: it was on super sale, and b: I have absolutely nothing in my closet that is maxi length. Ironically enough... this skirt ended up looking a little more like a midi on me, but I liked it anyways and I figure I can always wear it lower on my waist if I really want to wear it as a maxi.

This dress makes me want to go to a backyard barbecue in 1955. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to say... another day, another dress!
