I didn't notice it when I walked out the door, but once I got to work I realized I was wearing all Google colors. It's not exactly a big deal, but since I work at Google I felt a little bit like a cheerleader on game day. I suppose this makes me a nerdy fan girl, but I'm okay with it. I found this dress in a tiny little consignment store by my old apartment in Noe Valley and I wear it more than I originally thought I would. It's one of my standby dresses on days I don't have time to iron... which is often :)

My office is pretty dog friendly, so sometimes I bring my dog Newton along. It's always nice to take a break from the work day and go for a little stroll with him. I like to think he enjoys hanging out at the office because he gets a lot of treats and a chance to visit with his friend Daphne. I thought it was kinda cute (and a little dorky) that we had coordinating colors, so I decided to include him in these photos. Now if only I could bring my cat to work too...

It's officially fall, but it feels like summer is just getting started in the Bay Area, so I can't exactly bust out my fall layers and big boots just yet. I decided to compromise in this ensemble by mixing a fall color palette with summery pieces. How do you deal with the awkward season change days?

I'm sure you've already seen pics of this show so my photos are old news, but I just had to post them so I have something to remember the show by. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The colors and patterns were fun and youthful, which is not something I usually think of when trying to describe Nicole Miller. I thought a few of the looks were reminiscent of Tron and there was even a little Fresh Prince of Bel-Air going on. Not sure how much of this I would wear myself, but there are definitely a few pieces that I could see working their way into my closet.

I'm still plowing through the bazillions of fashion week photos I took, so bear with me! I usually wear all kinds of bright colors, so this outfit was a little different for me. I got this silk blouse at a sample sale in February during Fall 2011 fashion week in New York and I'm never really sure how to style it. It's kinda out of my element, but I had to get it because the fringe on the back is so awesome.

Here are a few of the photos I took that sort of sum up the collection's flirty, mod vibe (which I wasn't really expecting, but I'm okay with it!). To be honest, even though the Erin Fetherston presentation was really fun and the scene at Milk Studios that night was sort of surreal, I have to admit my favorite part of the evening was snapping photos along side Bill Cunningham. Unfortunately all I could think about while taking pictures at the presentation was how cool it was to be standing next to Bill, so my photos turned out kinda crappy.

I knew the Gregory Parkinson presentation would be beautiful, but I wasn’t expecting to be completely swept away by all of the delicate lace and ladylike silhouettes. I loved the venue, the makeup, the hair, the layers of lace, and just about everything at this elegant presentation. This collection was refreshing, ladylike, and not overly done. Just what spring should be.

I got this top at the ModSwap (a fun swap event during NYFW hosted by ModCloth and The Swapaholics) and boy was I excited to find it. I wore this on a day when I was running around and needed to be comfortable all day. It was pretty humid in New York, and living in San Francisco has made unaccustomed to any weather that is not slightly foggy and 65, so I was glad to find something lightweight and kinda funky. I'm not sure I would have put this outfit together if I was at home, but I like how traveling and a limited wardrobe can make you rethink how you put an outfit together.

Apologies for the lack of posts lately. I had to balance a busy work week and a full schedule of fashion shows for NYFW, and unfortunately my poor little blog didn't make the cut of things to keep up with (neither did my nails for that matter). I had a great time in New York, but I have to admit I was really excited to come home. Now that I'm back and (sort of) caught up on my overflowing inbox, I'll be posting a select few of the millions of photos I took over the past week. Stay tuned for outfit posts, show re-caps, and my favorite meals from my New York trip.

Yesterday I spent the day at the Lucky FABB conference. I'm relatively new to the blogger world and I wasn't really sure what to expect (other than fabulous shoes and outfit envy), but boy was I blown away. I got to hear some really inspiring speakers, learn a few things, and meet some new friends. All in all it was a great start to Fashion Week.
