Who knew you could have two awesome picnic party prints in one? This dress is not only the happy marriage of polka dots and gingham, but it's pretty much my definition of a picnic dress (whatever that is). When I saw it hanging on the wall at my favorite little vintage store in Noe Valley I knew it needed to come home with me. The fabric is pretty delicate so I don't wear it very often, but when I do there is always lots of twirling.
I was cleaning out my closet last week and I rediscovered this lovely little dress. I love it when that happens! I put it on and was feeling a little machy-matchy today so I figured I might as well go with it. Anything fun you've rediscovered in your closet lately?
We made it to Friday and I'm wearing pants (and printed ones at that)! I'm ending the work week by heading to the movies with a bunch of coworkers to see The Avengers in 3D! The nerd in me couldn't be more excited. Have you seen it yet?
I wore this last week on the drive back from Los Angeles to San Francisco. My main objective was comfort when I put this look together, but I think it actually turned out quite nice. Sometimes simple is best, I suppose.
While I was in Los Angeles last weekend I tagged along with Meghan and Kellen on a trip to Fashion Island for brunch and a little window shopping. I think we all agreed it's pretty much some sort of shopping Disneyland.
Once again, Lucky FABB did not fail to delight and inspire. I had such a great time listening to the panel speakers and hearing words of advice and inspiring stories from Zac Posen, Janie Bryant, and Elizabeth Banks (to name a few). After the conference I got a chance to catch up with old friends and meet a few new ones while sipping on lychee martinis and listening to a beautiful performance by A Fine Frenzy. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet more people at the conference!
Decided to make a quick stop at a fruit stand on my road trip to Los Angeles with Meghan yesterday. I'll be spending the next few days in L.A. to soak up the sunshine and attend the Lucky FABB conference on Monday.
I got lucky lucky at J Crew last weekend and managed to snag a couple of fun things on sale, so when we decided that this week's style challenge would be all about polka dots, I knew this skirt would be making it's debut. I happen to live near a shop that puts out balloons on the sidewalk everyday, so I decided to take advantage of the sidewalk decorations and include them in my photos today. After all, It's Friday and that sounds like a pretty great excuse for balloons to me.
I decided to bring my pup Newton to the office for the day to have a little puppy party with Meghan's dog Daphne. It's always nice to have a furry friend hanging out by my desk all day and he definitely enjoys the extra attention (and treats!) at the office.
I've been quite taken with photographic prints on fabric lately, so when I saw this skirt on sale I had to have it. I thought it couldn't hurt to have a little fun with the outdoor greenery theme on my skirt and so I created with this tonal green look. I think it was just what I needed on such a lovely spring day!
